ADHD Diagnosis using Eye Tracking method

less than 1 minute read

Our research goal is to create a diagnostic tool for a prevalent psychological disorder known as ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Instead of relying on the currently used diagnosis methods (Clinical tests and interviews) which are expensive, time-consuming, and simply unavailable to the large majority of ADHD patients; We intend to use low-cost cameras webcams to track the eye movement of ADHD children. Low-cost webcams and a software which is developed to follow up patient’s eyes and then analyzing the data sampled of the eyes and eye features provide a measure of attention or inattention of 7 to 12 years old ADHD and normal children.

The aim of the project is to provide the opportunity of timely and cost-effective diagnosis of children with ADHD-type difficulties. Therefore, making the diagnosis available for all of the ADHD children who are actually suffering from ADHD but are under-recognized and underdiagnosed.
